"Shamat" is Syrian-Armenian vocalist Lena Chamamyan's second album. You will find in all the nine tracks,

traditional songs revisited and re-arranged with the addition of brilliant solos by Turkish clarinet player Hüsnü Senlendirici and German accordion player Manfred Leuchter.

In "Shamat" Lena Chamamyan puts traditional Syrian songs into a new mold that brings together oriental classical singing and jazz arrangements.

The result is a personal look at the Syrian and Armenian folklore and an intimate story of her people.
